He was talented, controversial, and charming. He was also my all-time favorite ballplayer. I grew up 100 miles from the original Comiskey Park and attended my first big league baseball games there. At the time Dick Allen was a superstar on the Chicago White Sox and I adored him. My loyalties followed him in 1975 to Philadelphia, propelling me on a 25+ year affection for the Phillies. I remain a Phillies Phan to this day.

This site is multi-purposed (like many of the 1970's era stadiums he played in) serving first as a digital museum to celebrate his baseball career and secondarily, to add my voice to the Hall of Fame cause for Dick Allen.

There are varying reasons why Dick Allen is not currently in the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Most of which have nothing to do with what he did "on the field". In fact, most have to do with what people "think he did" or what type of "character" people think he was. His career statistics and peer comparisons clearly place him HOF company, yet he is STILL on the "outside looking in". The bottom line is this: There is no eligible former major league player more deserving for enshrinement in the Baseball Hall of Fame than Dick Allen.
